Day 1: Informative Meet & Greet

Women of all skill levels are invited to participate. Meet other women anglers, and representatives from Trout Unlimited. Jaquelyn Hartwig, the Bass Pro Shop Fly Fishing Instructor, will share her knowledge of equipment and techniques for fly fishing the ponds at Dead Horse State Park; and fly tying instructor Connie Richards from the Arizona Flycasters Club will be on hand to demonstrate tying her favorite fly for pond fishing.
The first 20 women who attend this event will be offered a free one-year membership in Trout Unlimited (plus a hat), and a free one-year membership to the Arizona Flycasters Club. Maps and information about Dead Horse State Park and Cottonwood will be available.
Day 2: Fly Fishing Clinic

Meet near the ponds Saturday at 10:00 AM for a fly fishing clinic. There will be demonstrations of techniques for fishing the ponds given by volunteers from local fishing clubs. If you have never fly fished before, rods, reels, and flies will be available for your use on Saturday. Lunch on your own in Cottonwood, or bring a picnic lunch. If you are making it a weekend of fishing, overnight accommodations are available at the park and at the motels in Cottonwood. Day 3: Fishing or Sightseeing – On Your Own

This is a whole family event, as there are lots of activities around the area such as antiquing, shopping, and wine tasting in historic downtown Cottonwood and Jerome; and there’s bird watching, hiking, or just relaxing at the park itself.
